Pailan World School celebrated Sarodiya Utsav today, 1 st of October, 2019. The Chief Guest for the programme was Mr. Animesh De, Principal, Gurukul Vidya Mandir. The welcome speech was given by the Principal, Mrs. K.A. Prabal. This was followed by a series of cultural programme by the students of Junior and Senior Department. There were two solo songs by the teachers. The programme ended with the Chief Guest addressing the parents, students and teachers.
World Language Day

communicate in various languages of the world. It is the power to express our thoughts with clarity.
We celebrated World Language Day in Pailan World School with Mr. Lal Bhatia as our Chief Guest, motivational speaker, author of Indicting Goliath and Chairman of David and Goliath. Our Guests of Honour were Ms. Tiphaine Mayran, Deputy Director of Alliance Francaise du Bengale and Mr. Imran Zaki, President of FACES and Director of Edu Aims. Our children enthralled the audience with their performance in various languages such as, French, Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Greek and English.
Report on Nature Camp
Pailan World School hosted Nature Camp on 21 st of September, 2019. Activities such as sit and draw competition, nature memory game and mask making competition was held for the
students and parents.
Parents and teachers participated in the nature quiz organized by the school. All the participants enjoyed the programme thoroughly. Trophies were given out to the winners.
Report on Star Sports Pro-Kabaddi Tournament
Pailan World School took part in the Star Sports Pro-Kabaddi Tournament which was held at
Netaji Indoor Stadium on 23 rd July, 2019. Our school was selected for the final eight best school in Kolkata.
Our student put up a tough fight against KV Command Hospital School but was defeated. Our position was 7th out of 16.
Report on the Inter House Swimming Competition
Pailan World School held its Inter House Swimming Competition on Wednesday, 3rd September, 2019. The four houses competed in various events like freestyle, medley, relay and other categories. Agni house was placed in the first position, followed by Bhaskara and Rohini. In the boys relay (senior) Agni, Prithvi and Rohini won the top three position. Principal Mrs. Keya Arundhoti Prabal commended the students on their performance.
Report on Ganesh Chaturthi
Pailan World School celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi on Thursday the 29th of August, 2019. Students of Class IV participated with great mirth and glee. Children made colourful and vibrant idols of Lord Ganesh. The artistic ideas were quite fascinating and children thoughtfully enjoyed the art and craft activity which portrayed their creative mind
Inter School Debate Competition
Pailan World School participated in the 13th Sloba Inter School Debate competition held on 18th of August, 2019. Our school was represented by Saloni Agarwal and Saptapurni Karmakar both of Class XIA. The topic was “Destiny is not a matter of chance but choice”.
24 schools from all over Kolkata participated in the contest. Anals. Our students put up a good show in front of a tough opposition. They received participation certificate from the principal of St. Lawrence School Fr. Sebastian James Sj. The two members team was escorted by Mr. Debapratim Mukherjee. The programme was chaired by Mr. Amitabha Gupta of Air India.
The 73rd Independence Day Celebration commenced with the Flag Hoisting ceremony. The Flag was hoisted by our Chief Guest Col .Ramesh Dadlani followed by the National Anthem. The school captain Priyam Mandal led the school to take the national pledge.
The celebration started by the patriotic choral presentation followed by the welcome address and felicitation of our Chief Guest. Our Principal Mrs. Keya Arundhoti Prabal delivered her Independence Day speech, which inspired our students and parents. The program proceeded with dances on the tunes of patriotic songs starting from the toddlers to the high school students. The students of middle and senior school presented choral recitation in Hindi, Bengali and English.
The students enthusiastically presented a skit representing the current scenario of terror- stricken people of Kashmir. The Program concluded by the vote of thanks delivered by School Vice- Captain Saloni Agrawal and Vande Mataram sung by Shreyanshu of class VI.
Interact Club Installation Ceremony
Today we had the 3rd Installation Ceremony of the Interact Club of Pailan World School. The President of Rotary Club of Joka, Mr. Pasupati Sarkar was the Chief Guest. Among other dignitaries, Secretary Ms. Neelima Kar, Youth Chairman Mr. Manish Nayak, Chair Literacy Mr. Kamalendu Bhattacharya and Treasurer Mr.Ashok Kumar Roy were also present.
The programme started with the National Anthem which was followed by the lighting of the lamp. Welcome speech was delivered by the Principal Mrs. Keya Arundhoti Prabal. A cultural programme was presented by the Interact Club members. A powerpoint presentation highlighting the social work undertaken by the Interact Club of Pailan World School was displayed.
The Handover Charter was followed after the introduction of the new Board Members, who were then given their badges by the new President of the Club, Aditya Jaiswal.
The programme ended with the Vote of Thanks by the Interact Club President.
Rabindranath Tagore's Death Anniversary Celebration
Pailan World School has always been inspired by the ideologies of Noble laureate Rabindranath Tagore. The school today celebrated the 78th Death anniversary of Gurudev. Rabindranath left for the heavenly abode on this day in 1941 at the age of 80.
The teachers and students paid floral tribute to his photograph. Pailan World School is determined to continue following Rabindranath Tagore’s firm belief that Nature should be our Teacher. Amidst the huge campus of Pailan World School and Nature based education, Rabindranath lives here forever.
Personality and Leadership Development Workshop
Personality and Leadership development workshop was held at HHI on 26th of July, 2019 by Cygnus Centre of Excellence. Students along with Mr. Surojit Burman (Physics teacher) participated in the workshop. The introductory session was conducted by Mr. Jason Pote. The concept of ‘Change your word and change your world” was explained in details by Ms. Rajpura Chakraborty. “Career Counseling” was done by industrialist Mr. Jayanta Banerjee. The closing session “making a mark” was taken up by Ms. Rajpura Chakraborty.
Summer Invitation Inter School Quiz Competition
On 2nd of August 2019 nine students of Pailan World School participated in the ‘Summer Invitation Inter School Quiz Competition’ at Dalhousie Institute. Mr. Soumendu Roy (Chemistry teacher) accompanied them. All the participants had an incomparable quizzing experience.
Prefect Investiture Ceremony – 2019 - 2020
The Investiture Ceremony of Pailan World School, for the academic session 2019 – 2020, held on the 27th of July 2019, was yet again a special occasion where the newly appointed School Captain Priyam Mandal along with his team of 20 Office Bearers, were prepared to don the mantle of responsibility and to carry it out with utmost dedication.
The ceremony began with Opening song followed by an introductory speech by the MC. The ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Respected Richard Allen Flynn, Joint Chairperson Mrs. Baby Saha, Director of Pailan Group of Institutes Mr. Mahesh, Academic Advisor Mrs. Lorraine Mirza and Principal Mrs. Keya Arundhoti Prabal. The Chief Guest was felicitated by Principal Mrs. Keya Arundhoti Prabal along with two Junior school students. A dance recital named Ganesh Vandana and was performed by students of senior school to seek blessings of the almighty. Several song and dance performances added colour to the occasion. Principal ma’am after presenting a touching Presentation lead us in Prayer.
The deserving students were bestowed with the responsibility of leading the school from the front. The members of the senior and junior Student Council took their oath with a promise that they would carry out their duties with integrity, faith and excellenceand the dignitaries pinned the badges and presented certificates to the students. Inspirational quotes read by students inspired our young leaders.On this occasion the Chief Guest Mr. Richard Allen Flynn congratulated the newly elected council members and stressed on the significance of setting priorities and aiming high.The solemn occasion came to an end with the singing of the National Anthem.

CISCE Regional Cricket Tournament 2019
CISCE Regional Inter-School Cricket Tournament (Under 14) was held at Pailan World School from the 22nd to 24th of July 2019. Ratnakar North Point school was the winner, South City International School was the 1st runner up and St. James’ School was the 2nd runners up.
Trophies, medals and certificates were handed over to the participants by Mrs. Baby Saha, Joint Chairperson and Principal, Mrs. Keya Arundhoti Prabal.
Launch of Integrated Education Design
On the 10th of July 2019, the Integrated Education Design project was launched in the Pailan World School Campus. The programme started at 2:30pm. It was attended by The Vice Chairperson of Pailan Group of Institutions, Mrs. Moonmoon Mahesh, Academic Advisor Mrs. Loraine Mirza, Principal Mrs. Keya Arundhuti Probal, all the Faculty members of IED, the IED students and their parents. Professor Shubhadeep Majumdar started of the programme. This was followed a small prayer and a brief introduction about I.E.D. given by Mrs. Sharmila Bhattacharya. Principal Mrs. Keya A. Probal introduced all the I.E.D. Teachers. Folders containing I.E.D. syllabus and stationery was given to all students enrolled under I.E.D. Mr. Deboprotim Mukherjee delivered the Vote of Thanks. The programme came to an end at 3:30 pm. Following this distribution of food packets and orderly dispersal students were done. The I.E.D programmes hopes to achieve huge success.
International Yoga Day Celebration
Yoga -to improve or develop one’s inherent power in a balanced manner. Children derive enormous benefits from yoga. Yoga can improve focus, memory, self-esteem, academic performance and also reduce anxiety and stress in children.
Pailan World School celebrated International Yoga Day with a great zeal in order to promote the regular practice of yoga among the students.
Pailan Group of Institutions launches
IED (Integrated Education Design) to bridge the gap between school and college with 5/6 years integrated ISC – Graduation Programme, in collaboration with
EARN WHILE YOU LEARN to make the students economically independent while empowering them with education.
The junior department of Pailan World School organized the Mango Festival on the 11th of May, 2019 within the school premises. The Chief Guest for the festival was Mrs. Baby Saha. The judge for the event was Mrs. Archana Sarada. Three schools from the neighbourhood ie. Vivekananda Mission School, K.E. Carmel and Gurukul Vidya Mandir participated in this fest.
The programme started with the welcome speech by the Principal, Mrs. K.A. Prabal. This was followed by two welcome songs and a dance choreographed by the dance teacher.
After this there were a series of activities like fashion show, song and poem recitation, draw and colour, fruit salad making, poster making, mango eating and making of aam ki chutney and aam panna competitions. The tiny tots from all the four schools enthusiastically participated in these competition. Winners were selected by the judge and prizes were distributed to them.
K.E. Carmel School was placed in the first position, followed by Pailan World School and Vivekananda Mission School in the third position. The day came to an end with a smile on each and every participants face.

Annual Karate Belt Examination
The Annual Karate Belt Examination was held on 2nd May 2019.
This belt examination tests the discipline, confidence, mental, physical power of a student and also gives them the opportunity to proceed a step ahead to the Graduation level of Karate, which is ‘Black Belt’
“Beat the heat with healthy food”
Students of Class VII of Pailan World School took part in a fruit salad making activity during their SUPW class on Tuesday, the 30th of April, 2019. It was a non fire cooking class where students participated with enthusiasm and gusto.
On 27th April, 2019 art students of Class XII visited “The Annual Art Show” conducted by the Alumni of the Indian College of Art and Draftsmanship at Academy of Fine Arts to interact with the artist to discuss about their technique and style of painting.
Pailan World School celebrated Shakespeare Day with great zeal in order to pay tribute to the Bard of Avon.
